Joan Buades Feliu

Degree in Law from the Universidad de Barcelona (1975). He joined the Association of Lawyers of Barcelona in 1976 and the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands in 1979.

Diploma in Business Management from the IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra (1981).

Joan Buades founded the firm in 1979. Since then he has managed it and developed his professional practice in the area of advising businesses, in particular on Commercial Law, Economic Criminal Law and Procedural Law.

Associate professor for 20 years, currently with the Department of Private Law at the University of the Balearic Islands and a lecturer on the UIB-ICAIB Master’s in Law programme.

He regularly takes part in conferences, round tables, seminars, etc., in the Balearics and throughout the rest of Spain. He is the secretary of the board of directors and legal adviser for various companies, business associations and other bodies.

Marta Rossell Garau

Degree in Law from the Universitat de les Illes Balears in 1991.
Marta Rossell is currently professor of the Masters in Health Law organized by the UIB.

Diploma in Business Studies from the Universitat de les Illes Balears in 1993.

She joined the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands in 1991. In September of the same year she became part of this firm.

She has updated background in different areas of expertise, having completed, among others, the Thomson Reuters Expert Compliance Officer Course (2019).

She is a specialist in the area of professional indemnity, including medical malpractice. She discovered her vocation for criminal law thanks to the good work of one of her lecturers during her degree. Even though she always imagined herself working in the world of private business away from legal practice as a lawyer, she defines herself as someone who loves the courts. She says that “the more cases you handle, the more this profession draws you in”.

Nothing relaxes her more than going sailing with her family, as she finds the sea a haven where she can escape from modern technologies. Her other weakness on dry land is playing tennis, a sport which she has often played since she was a child.

Miguel Reus Méndez

Graduate in Law from the University of the Balearic Islands in 1997.

University Specialist in Territorial and Urban Planning from the University of the Balearic Islands.

Postgraduate degree in Town Planning Valuations from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Admitted to the Bar Association of the Balearic Islands in 1997. He joined the firm in July of the same year.

From his first days at the faculty he remembers the welcoming reflection of one of his professors: “in two days you will be on the street with your degree and then what…”. Of his beginnings as a lawyer, he will never forget the “I don’t know if I want to be a lawyer” he uttered at his first job interview. Sixteen years into his career, he says that, although he has not yet made up his mind, he is passionate about his profession.

He is currently an associate lecturer in the Department of Private Law at the University of the Balearic Islands.

He abandons law for cycling whenever he can. Pedalling since he was thirteen years old, his legs have allowed him to climb the highest peaks in Europe: Alpe d’Huez, Tourmalet or the Mortirolo.

Luís Huerta Pérez

Degree in Law from the Universitat de les Illes Balears in 2002.

Masters in Banking and Finance from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues.

He joined the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands in 2004 and joined this firm in January of the same year.

After gaining professional experience in the financial sector, he found his true vocation in practising as a lawyer. From all the advice he has received from the management of the firm, he says that there is one piece he always bears in mind: “you can only get rid of stress from work in one way: by getting it done”. From his experience as a legal advisor in the world of professional football, the intensity with which everything is experienced and projected stands out to him.

Amongst his hobbies, he has a special place for playing in basketball leagues and his love of dogs – he has four.

Author of A Practical Vision of Supreme Court Jurisprudence on Law 57/1968 and the Building Standards Act (LOE), and of many juridical publications.

He joined the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands in 2008 and joined this firm in September of the same year.

He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Private Law at the Universitat de les Illes Balears.

When he entered the faculty, Law was presented to him as an unknown science, which he ended up passionate about. After accepting the firm’s proposal, he never loses sight of the professional advice he received upon arrival: “a fundamental pillar of this profession is empathy, knowing how to put yourself in the shoes of the client, partner or the other party”.

Historical novels, Russian literature and period movies, for their re-creation in the dialogues, enrich his free time along with the playing football and paddle tennis, always on a team.

Gabriel Buades Castella

Degree in Law from Madrid’s Universidad Complutense in 2008 and advanced degree in International Business Administration and Management from the EBS Madrid (European Business School) in 2009.

Master of Laws (LL. M.) in German Law, Humboldt Universität, Berlin. He wrote his Masters Dissertation on the tax obligations of German residents in Spain and Germany.

Masters in Corporate Law from the University of the Balearic Islands, 2014. In 2019 and 2020, he also completed the Legal Tech and General Management programmes, taught by ESADE and IE (Instituto de Empresa), respectively.

Entered the Bar Association of the Balearic Islands in 2009, carrying out his professional practice for various years in different offices in Germany.

Member of the Hispano-German Association of Lawyers and of the Hispano-Austrian Association of Lawyers.

As a member of the firm’s International Desk, he says that his time abroad helped him to appreciate: “the value of Anglo-Saxon formalities and tradition, German perseverance and the entrepreneurial capacity of people from the USA”.

He enjoys travelling as well as dining and conversation with friends. Film and sport fill his free time away from the office.

Teresa Castella López

Degree in Law from the Universidad Central de Barcelona (1978).

Postgraduate studies, specializing in Family Law from the Universitat de les Illes Balears.

University Specialist Diploma in business management for non-economists from the Universitat de les Illes Balears.

She joined the Association of Lawyers of Tarragona in 1978 and in 1983 joined the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands.

Her lengthy professional career has always been accompanied by a strong belief in instilling a value-based family education. This perspective has enabled her to interpret Family Law, a priori, from a position of conciliation.

She always makes room for reading and cinema in her daily routine. Creativity and constant experimentation in areas as varied as interior design and gastronomy provide constant are a source of diversion in her life.

Antonio Tugores Mayol

Degree in Law from the Universitat de les Illes Balears (1986) and qualified in Administrative Management in 1987.

He joined the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands in 1987 and became a member of this firm the same year.

First impressions matter and he recalls his on the day he joined the firm: “from the first moment you could tell there was a special affinity”. After more than twenty five years with the firm as a specialist in road traffic law, amongst other areas of practice, and everything related to traffic, he remembers with enthusiasm how he had to intercede in a trial in his first visit to the courts. Recently, as a result of his notable career, he had one of his greatest satisfactions: the Ombudsman of the Balearics, without personally knowing him, recommended his services to a renowned client.

Passionate Mallorcan and lover of football and sports in general, he does not conceive a better reward after a hard week’s work than being able to sit next to his family and enjoy a session of good cinema.

Daniel Olabarría Vaquero

Degree in Law from the Universidad de Granada, and studied for part of his degree at the Erasmus University, in Rotterdam.

Master of Laws (LL. M.) in German Law from the Universität Hamburg and University Specialist Diploma in Planning Laws and Urban Development from the Universitat de les Illes Balears.

He joined the Association of Lawyers of the Balearic Islands in 2003, and joined this firm in September 2005.

He has had a driving ambition to be a lawyer for as long as he can remember, with the aim of fulfilling two objectives: to offering legal help to others and to be able to develop in all areas of life which are connected to the law.

Skiing, playing football with his friends, daily reading as a means of escape and alternative music –indie – make up parts of his life when he takes a break from the law.

Aina Lladó Pascual

She graduated in Social Education from the University of the Balearic Islands (2011), having studied the last year in Buenos Aires (Argentina) through an international study programme.

She obtained her degree in law from the University of the Balearic Islands (2018).

Thereafter, she completed a Master’s Degree for Admission to the Bar at Pompeu Fabra University – School of Management in Barcelona (2019).

She worked for 6 years as a social education teacher within the non-profit sector, which she combined with her legal studies, including a work placement at the Balearic Islands Public Prosecutor’s Office for Minors.

Her first contact with Buades Legal took place while on her work placement in the master’s programme, and she has remained connected with the firm to this day. Her training as a social education teacher enables her to have a global vision of family law, which is one of her areas of expertise.

One of her passions is travelling, having travelled through much of South East Asia. Another of her favourite locations is the beach, where she loves to walk all year round, whilst reading a good book is one of her calmer passions.
