Goals for sustainable development

In 2015, the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, providing countries and their societies with an opportunity to embark on a new path to improve lives worldwide. The Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals, ranging from eliminating poverty to combating climate change, promoting education, women’s equality, protecting the environment and shaping our cities. Each goal details specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.

These indicators interrelate and incorporate the global challenges we face every day, such as inequalities, climate challenge, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice.

It is important for the office to achieve each of these goals by 2030 so that no one is left behind.
